Sharing knowledge to inspire discovery and shape the future of space exploration

Born to support the ExoMars mission, EXODOCS carries forward ESA’s commitment to making space exploration a shared European endeavour. We believe that the true value of discovery lies in its ability to be shared. The EXODOCS consortium is committed to ensuring that every piece of knowledge gained through our research is made accessible to everyone. We aim to communicate, disseminate, and apply our findings so they can inspire future explorers, strengthen European innovation, and enrich society as a whole. This is our platform for sharing our findings.

Exploitation

The exploitation plan of EXODOCS is designed to ensure the lasting impact of its research results through scientific, technological, societal, and industrial contributions. The activities outlined aim to foster innovation and capitalize on results by enhancing RF’s scientific capabilities, advancing technology, and encouraging collaboration between academia and industry.

Below is the list of Exploitation activities carried out by the EXODOCS consortium during the implementation of the project:

Dissemination

The EXODOCS consortium has identified specific activities, each aimed at a particular audience, ensuring that the outputs of the doctoral network reach the most relevant stakeholders. The execution of the dissemination plan will ensure EXODOCS’s contributions are visible across academic, industrial, and public domains, thereby fostering innovation and advancing Europe’s leadership in planetary exploration.. Most dissemination activities (see below) will involve collaboration between multiple DCs. As a representative example, all DCs will contribute to the publication of the EXODOCS roadmap to future Mars exploration, this being a white paper summarizing EXODOCS outputs that will have an impact on future exploration endeavors.

Communication and Public Engagement

The project’s communication and engagement activities will bridge the gap between cutting-edge research activities and public knowledge, raising awareness of how astrobiology and planetary exploration missions contribute to society (see Table 2.3c). By fostering direct interactions, the EXODOCS aims to inspire a new generation of STEM professionals, with a strong emphasis on promoting gender balance. The outreach will enhance public understanding of scientific contributions while improving the communication skills of DCs. It will boost media coverage and create stronger links with social communities, promoting the societal value of space science and European cooperation.
